Compressed Meatloaf?

Posted by Non-Hamster on July 12th, 2010

I just had a dream that sounds like it could be an episode of my Star Trek parody, Phat Trek and, in fact, it may very well end up being one!

The dream was focused on the fact that so many people are overweight and a large percentage of them, in spite of what they may say, actually have very little if any interest in doing anything about changing their eating habits enough to lose that weight.  Some bright young genius then came up with the perfect solution, one that involved mixing meat loaf with a genuinely effective and safe weight loss aid and then compressing the result into pill form.

In the dream these meat loaf pills went on sale as a quick and tasty meal for people who didn't have time for lunch when they needed it.  Instead, they could just pop a meat loaf pill and have the satisfaction of tasting a very good meat loaf and having their hunger satisfied for at least five hours.  It very quickly became the world's top diet pill years before anyone in the general population had a clue what it's true purpose was.

I realize that this sounds more than a little bit like something that might have come out of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory but there it is.  And no, I hadn't thought of the Wonka connection to the idea until I was writing this just now.
