Flag Fire Hydrant Returns

Posted by Non-Hamster on September 29th, 2007

This one bugs me for a couple of reasons.  1) I think that some things don't need to be painted with a flag design.  It's just not respectful.  Things like flag themed clothing can be ok, but it can also be very NOT ok very quickly.  2) it's a fire hydrant in a dog park, not only does that qualify it for my first objection but what do they think is going to happen to just about anything put in a dog park?  I am not a hamster, it's obvious that it's either going to be eaten, chewed, dug in or eliminated on.  Let's face it, even though it's placed as a tribute, I'm sure they could find a better real estate selection to put it on.

AP - The flag-painted fire hydrant that was removed because critics thought dogs would disrespectfully urinate on it is being reinstalled, but with a fence to keep the pooches away.
