“One Lawmaker, Many Votes”

Posted by Non-Hamster on September 29th, 2007

Ok, this one takes a sharp step back from the humor of the last two vids.  This one is about another one of those really annoying stories about hypocrisy.  Specifically Texas legislators are going on about a campaign to insure that each voter only gets one vote.  Even to the point of requiring photo ID's from voters to make sure nobody votes more than once.

Yet in the Texas legislature, even though it's absolutely against the rules, a tv station caught lots of 'em doing multiple votes all over the place.  They'd place their own vote, and then turn around and vote for somebody else that wasn't present.

I'd like to think that this getting caught on video and exposed will make for some reforms to prevent this from happening any more but I am not a hamster, I know that it's actually more likely that the legislature will pass some kind of law/regulation/rule/whatever to prevent people from making "unauthorized" video of voting.  They won't change it, they'll just cover it up and make it illegal to catch them at it.
