On The Darker Side

Posted by Non-Hamster on November 28th, 2010

As you might imagine life in Nutjob Hills isn't always a walk in the park and I'm not just talking about people making a career out of finding ways to use popular condiments to make new eczema treatments either.  In fact, the honest truth is that Nutjob Hills, like any other town, has it's darker side.

In this case I'm talking about a string of disappearances that started a couple of months ago.  At first nobody thought much of it because the people that disappeared were (for the most part) the more transient types such as tourists that were nearing the end of their stay, the occasional vagrant type that might come into town hitchhiking or taking an unauthorized ride on the rail lines that pass by the edge of town.

Basically people that won't be missed because nobody expects to see them more than once or twice anyhow.  In the last couple of weeks that has begun to change.  Four insignificant but lifelong residents have up and vanished completely.

What's really strange is that while they are gone, their belongings aren't.  Their homes look as if they simply went out to the store or something and never came back.  No sign of struggle or that they had any intention of going anywhere.
