What's The Point?

Posted by Non-Hamster on January 7th, 2011

I've been wondering something lately.  Why is it that anybody would actually pay to watch online video?

Simply put, I think there are enough sites where you can watch all manner of things for free and given that, there's really no point in paying for the privilege of watching.

Sites like Hulu.com where there is tons of stuff that can be watched for free, supported by advertising.  I know, there's this "hulu plus" thing that you can pay for but I don't think there's any point to it since as far as I can tell, you STILL get to watch commercials along with your video.

If it would give you the option of watching without commercials then MAYBE it might be worth it.  On the other hand, commercials are a good time to run to the bathroom real quick or grab a quick lunch or snack.
