Prune Power

Posted by Non-Hamster on January 18th, 2011

In the last week or so one set of neighbors have been moving out.  I can tell even without having seen this because of all the noise they're making in their carport loading stuff onto a truck and trailer, followed by several hours of silence as they drive off to take everything to their new place.

Then a new batch of noises started up as somebody else moved in.  What I found interesting is that the moving in was apparently much quicker than the moving out.  Apparently they didn't have a whole lot of stuff.  Since then it's been quiet.  No barking dogs, no screaming kids and no car engines being raced and tuned in the driveway at 3:00am.

I met the guy who moved in this morning when he came over in something of a panic asking me where he could get the best treatment for wrinkles that was available locally.  He did look somewhat seriously "pruned" the way people do when they spend a lot of time in a really hot shower but I didn't think much of it.

I directed him to the local pharmacy and asked why the urgent urgency (I should know better than do that).  He explained that he really likes to take long hot showers but "can't show up to work lookin like a prune" (his words).  I tried to explain to him that any anti-wrinkle treatment is more than likely not going to be what he needs to solve his particular problem and that what he really needs to do is make sure he has enough time after his super duper hot steamy shower is done for his skin to return to normal appearance before he needs to go anywhere that he doesn't want to look like that.

He looked at me like I was a crazy person with three heads and left.
