Organizing A Mess

Posted by Non-Hamster on July 9th, 2011

One of my neighbors has just inherited a mess.  A mess of family photographs that is.  You know, the classic old style photos that everybody had back before the age of digital pictures?  Well this person has just gotten a huge box with well over a thousand of those pictures in it.

They're all of varying sizes. A lot of the older ones are in black & white and very few of them have any kind of note written on the back to indicate who is in the picture and what the occasion was.

From there, it gets really challenging.  You see they've decided that ALL of these photos need to be framed.  Not only that, but just throwing them into standard frames isn't good enough.  They want the option to have them different for each part of the collection... baby pictures of so-and-so in one style frame, baby pics of another person in a different style frame Etc.  Normally I like to leave things like this to Mr. Helpful but since he's on the road and these people are desperate to do something with all those pictures I let myself get talked into helping them find someplace that has a lot of personalized photo frame options for them to choose from.

I have to say that it's been quite the challenge, especially given how many different picture frame styles they are going to need and that many of them will have to be personalized in some way.

I never thought I'd look forward to Mr. Helpful's return.  Never.
