In my previous post I talked a bit about the 'fun' time we had in the hospital recently.
One of the biggest problems is the boredom factor. I'm not just talking about the fact that it gets really boring for the person staying with the patient, I am not a hamster, it's also pretty bad on the patient themselves. Worse in fact because they're pretty much pinned to the hospital bed most of the time and there's only so much tv you can watch and stay sane.
The best solution to boredom is to have something to do to help keep your mind occupied. That's one of the reasons I've been eyeing this Lenovo Thinkpad. It's got quite a bit of features on it and has the advantage of shipping with XP which is a big timesaver... no need to format the vista drive and start out from scratch with a fresh install unless you're wanting to install some flavor of Linux.
Something like that would go a long way to keeping people occupied or even productive if they're blessed enough to be within range of a Wi-Fi hotspot.
