In another example of senselessness, I just saw this headline:
Experts say an inexpensive nose swab can test for deadly drug-resistant staph
infections – and some hospitals are getting on board. But why isn’t the government?
Wyatt Andrews reports.
The thing is, it’s asking a really good question. This latest version of staph infection is being called a “superbug” because of how resistant is is to current treatments. Now I am not a hamster, testing sounds like a pretty good idea… at least you’d get to spot the thing sooner. I don’t know a whole lot about medicine but I do know that the sooner something is spotted and treatment started, the better.
