Hero Wannabe

Posted by Non-Hamster on June 26th, 2013

I've said many times that Nutjob Hills has more than it's share of "odd" people and this qualifies as an excellent example.

One night a few weeks ago I was awakened by music.  To my surprise it was not one of yoga guy's little 4AM "concerts" where he tries hard to drive the neighborhood both insane and deaf at the same time while he practices his yoga on his front lawn.

It turned out that it was Fred, a kid that lives a couple of blocks over.  I found out when I ran into him at the Nutjob Hills Diner the next morning.  He was talking to a friend of his at the next table.  He was really excited about a recent purchase, which he described as "an absolutely great bari sax at WWBW."

As the conversation went on I realized that I'd heard the music he was playing before and where I'd heard it.  It was the theme song from an old television series called "NightMan.  A show about a sax player that, after being struck by lightning was able to hear the evil thoughts of people around him and went on to aquire some high tech stuff that later became the costume he wore as the super hero "NightMan".

Fred was telling his friend that having gotten the sax, he's one step closer to becoming a real life NightMan.

I'd have doubts about that but knowing the more "exceptional" people of Nutjob Hills it's entirely possible that one or more of them has developed technology to produce a working NightMan costume.
