Accomodating Store

Posted by Non-Hamster on August 10th, 2013

Fred's Fertilizer and Furniture shoppe is one of the more unusual businesses in Nutjob Hills.

Aside from the unorthodox even for Nutjob Hills combination of merchandise they sell, its also the only multi-level stores in this part of the state.  They have four floors of space set aside for products on display for shoppers and another five for storage, three of which are underground.

They've even taken into account that a fair number of their customers either have difficulty with or just plain don't want to climb the stairs from floor to floor.  What they did not do however is install an elevator.  Instead they have stairway lift installed on all of the stairways.  This not only lets customers with difficulty climbing get from floor to floor much more easily it also provides quite a bit of entertainment for the kids who seem to enjoy riding up and down the stairs while their parents are shopping.

Why not an elevator?  That's because the building is one of those old historical landmarks and that means that massive changes to structure like adding elevators are prohibited.  It's just as well, the place has done quite well using the stairway lifts instead.
