I can't say for certain, but I'm thinking that it's possible that he, or perhaps the new number 1 guy at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer (you know, famous for having screaming obscenity laden fits over Google, Linux, Sun and other competitors... yeah, that guy.]
Why would I think something like that? Hey, I am not a hamster here, Microsoft has a long standing reputation of being a very invasive, in-your-business kind of operation and now they're taking it to the next level in a patent they're seeking for "office spy software". They're claiming that its purpose is to monitor an employees stress and frustration levels, their overall physical well being and their competence. Frankly this brings to mind some of the old original movie posters for George Orwell's 1984 and some of the images and concepts that were brought into popular culture in that story.
Employees now need to be extra careful in the office (there goes the stress level that the bosses SAY they're trying to reduce), lest some computer program mis-interpret some reading or other on their physiology and they end up fired by a machine.
It sounds ridiculous on the face of it I know but when you take a longer look at it and the possibilities for the use of this kind of software technology you'll see that this is far from benevolent by any stretch of anyone's imagination.
