Why buy.com Rocks

Posted by Non-Hamster on February 12th, 2008

I mentioned recently that I was working on making a video.  Well, I finally finished it.  It's about Buy.com, an online retailer (some folks call 'em an "E-Tailer") that really is worth checking out.  In fact, a phrase that I've been seeing more of lately is asking the question "why buy.com rocks" and I think this little video shows my vision of the answer to that question.

Simply put, They're very impressive.  Not only are there some really great prices on stuff, but their inventory is truly varied with over two million products.  Just browsing around the site you'll see that there's a LOT of stuff with free shipping offers.

They also show you what the manufacturer's suggested retail price is and the difference between that and their price.. on some items this number can get really impressive which means that you can save money on whole shiploads of stuff.  Combine that with their price comparison engine and you can also see how much you're saving over the competitor's prices.

There's celebrities like Howie Mandel and Ryan Seacrest appearing in videos and deal of the day promotions on the site.  Then there's a deal for new customers... A Google Checkout coupon that lets you get an exclusive $10 off their $10 order coupon valid on any purchase.

One of the features that I really like about them is the reviews of products from customers.  This way you can find out ahead of time.. as in before you buy something, what other customers think of it and their experiences with it.  I am not a hamster, that feature alone puts them way ahead of most retailers.

Anyway.  Here's the video I made to answer the question "why buy.com rocks?"
