How often do you get the idea that perhaps you've heard it all? I know that every once in a while I hear of something that leaves me convinced that now, finally, I have heard it all. Which works fine until the next outrageous thing comes along and nicely disabuses me of that illusion. The latest example of which is here:
BORDEAUX, France (Reuters) - The mayor of a village in southwest France has threatened residents with severe punishment if they die, because there is no room left in the overcrowded cemetery to bury them.
The first thing that I wanted to know what just exactly what was the severe punishment going to be for anyone who violated the ordinance and died illegally? Or how were they supposed to prevent these illegal deaths? Have they come up with some kind of super antioxidant anti-death drug that will keep a person alive until they can solve the problem of the full cemetery?
