Now that the conventions are over and the political equivalent of a frat party with suits and ties instead of funny shirts is done with for now, it's time for all campaigning to get going full bore.
Thinking about it, perhaps I should have subtitled this "let the mudslinging begin" because it's already gotten well underway. Both candidates have wasted no time taking shots at the other. The most (in)famous that has surfaced recently is the noise about Obama making that "lipstick on a pig" remark.
Whether you believe McCain's stance on that or Obama's, you have to admit that it's a memorable phrase and it's not going to go away anytime soon. Regardless of Obama's intentions when he said it, he's still going to have to live with the fallout from it for a long time to come.
