Hillary's Not So Secret Plan?

Posted by Non-Hamster on September 15th, 2008

Newser is reporting that Dick Morris is telling the UK Telegraph (so why don't they report it?) that while the Clintons are campaigning for Obama like good little democrats, they secretly want McCain to win.

Why? Because Hillary is looking forward to running against Palin in four years.  The first thing that comes to mind is that we just nicely managed to avoid having a Hillary presidency this time.

[=Edit= I had originally made a nasty comment that compared the thought of Hillary in the White House to mesothelioma however I am not a hamster nor do I desire to come off *that* crude.  I don't ever want her in the White House and I honestly don't trust her one bit but she's not comparable to a disease.  That comment has been removed.  This explanation is here because there are people who've seen it]

Morris is saying that he's thinking that McCain's campaign is going to get a lot more support from women voters because McCain surprised everybody by choosing a female running mate.  Which is kinda ironic when you think about it.  Obama had the chance to choose Hillary.  In fact, most people pretty much expected him to do so and HE surprised everybody when he chose Biden.

Obama's surprise is a negative because so many people expected him to choose Hillary.  McCain's surprise is a positive because he chose Palin right on the heels of Obama passing over Clinton for Biden.

The worst thing that could happen to Hilary is Obama losing and her taking the blame. And, if Obama loses, chances are, no matter what she does, a lot of the punditocracy is going to lay it at her feet. Her best chance for the presidency, thus, is after eight years of Obama (or, possibly, after four years of Obama and four of a Republican).

And then there’s the scenarios that you didn’t cover… Eight years of McCain followed by Eight of Palin.  Four years of McCain and four or eight years of Palin just to name a few.
