« Zombie Identification Fail Circle Flies »

I saw something in the news earlier today about James Gadiel.  A guy who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center. He was one of the roughly three thousand people who were killed When the twin towers were struck by a couple of passenger planes that had been hijacked by 19 muslim terrorists.

Seems that his hometown wanted to put up a memorial plaque in his honor at the town.  However they've run into something of a snag.  You see, James' father wants to have the words "Murdered by Muslim terrorists" on the plaque beneath his name.  The town's officials feel that this is "too controversial" for a small town memorial.  They don't want anybody to think badly of 'em or that they're somehow accusing all muslims of being terrorists.

One thing that I can't help wondering is why have they waited this long to do something about a memorial?  As for their problem with having the words "Murdered by Muslim terrorists" on the plaque, I have to ask why.  I mean I am not a hamster, this isn't just a piece of office furniture we're talking about here.  It's a memorial for somebody that was in fact, along with some three thousand other people, murdered by muslim terrorists.

Or has the stupidity of "political correctness" gotten SO bad that now we're not allowed to mention the truth about terrorists, such as the fact that they were muslim, just because we apparently don't want to offend anyone that happens to be muslim.

Where does the nonsense stop?  Do we now stop teaching about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in history classes because we don't want to offend the Japanese?  Do we stop teaching about Nazi Germany in history classes because it's liable to offend Germans or people of German descent?

Tolerance is something that can be, and in my opinion has been, taken entirely too far.  People need to quit being such milquetoasty whiners and grow a skin that's thick enough to deal with the truth instead of being afraid of offending people just because they don't like what that truth is.

I'll put it this way, If you had a hand in the 9/11 attack then I don't effing CARE about your little feelers getting hurt by that memorial plaque or the video below and in fact I hope you ARE offended.

On the other hand if you didn't have anything to do with it, they you have NO reason OR excuse to be offended by either regardless of whether you're muslim or not.  We Americans have EVERY RIGHT to remember the attack, memorialize those who died in it and to still be pissed off about it.

If you refuse to stand behind our troops then by all means, FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!

I'll be the first to admit that there is a LOT of wrong stuff going on but I still believe that this is the greatest country on Earth.

In other words: America, Love it or leave it.
