Princess Diana AGAIN?!?

Y’know, I’m starting to have a problem with all this morbid fasination people are having with Princess Diana. This concert is the the latest in a long list…

OLD AND NEW MIX AT CONCERT FOR DIANA

Princes William and Harry took to the stage at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday at
a star-studded pop concert they planned themselves in honor of their mother, Princess
Diana, on what would have been her 46th birthday.

I’m sure she was a great person and obviously she still has quite the following. The thing is that I think this is going beyond any kind of healthy respect or admiration for someone. It’s starting to border on worship and that’s getting into territory that is best avoided.

I am not a hamster. This whole Diana thing resembles the Elvis thing of the late 70’s and 80’s entirely too much. About the only difference is that, as far as I know, there haven’t been any “Diana Sightings” reported. Then again, I don’t read things like the Enquirer or Weekly Word News.

Speaking of Blogs That have a new look…

Now that my wife’s blog “Off The Cuff” is now live with it’s new WordPress look I just had to put in a plug for it. Besides, I am not a hamster, I’m not going to let a good opportunity like this go by to link to her blog and make sure the trackback is working right.

Grats on the new look. Any little bugs will be fixed asap and the blog will roll on.

Captain America Dead

I gotta say, I really don’t like it when people do things like this. I am not a hamster, I realize that Cap has been around for a LONG time and had to be getting on in years, but honestly I don’t see why Marvel had to go and kill off one of their founding characters.

Marvel Comics Buries Captain America

NEW YORK (AP) – It’s a funeral fit for a superhero.

In the drizzling rain at Arlington National Cemetery, thousands of grieving patriots solemnly watch as the pall bearers – Iron Man, the Black Panther, Ben Grimm and Ms. Marvel – carry a casket draped with an American flag.

Yeah, I know. They want “realism” in the stories. Ok, Be realistic. However they should think long and hard before considering a step like this… and then they ought to have put it away and told themselves “That’s a really stupid idea, it’s just gonna make readers angry.”

Announcing The New And Improved Blog

Welcome to the first post of the new version of “I Am Not A Hamster”. With this entry the changeover to WordPress is complete. I decided not to bother importing the old Thingamablog entries. Instead you will find links to the old archive pages in the left sidebar. Those old pages will remain part of the site.

In the meantime, it’s time to get this thing rolling. After all, it is looking kinda blank in here and I am not a hamster, I know people aren’t going to be very interested in a blog that looks blank even if it DOES have six months worth of archives from it’s previous version.
